Horse Feather is a band that brings together alternative rock, folk and funk to create a great style of original music. With a mixture of both originals and covers, they move the audience to a variety of sounds: from lilting harmonies to fast- paced songs guaranteed to have you throwing on your dance shoes. Danny, Cassius, Daniel and Nadim represent four corners of the laowai universe, hoping to add to the Beijing scene with songs about everything from culture clashes to bad trips.
ISA Ltd.”I’m Still Alive Ltd” is a collective of Beijing based musicians with a common goal to put the fun in the performance. With their own take on classics and new songs, the ultimate goal is to make the audience feel it… whatever “it” is.
Formed in fall 2008 at the urging of friends, Pacalolo had a period of changing its players while its songs developed into their present emphasis on melody, English storytelling, and rhythm. Pacalolo can be called a synth pop rock band or a alternative dance band, and it plays a combination of rock and roll and electronic instrumentals to underpin lyrical ballads in mostly English (some Chinese) that tell often haunting stories about the seedy worlds of KTV, estranged love, transcendence, and China’s waking soul. Their live show always turns into a high-energy fun party.
Hailing from Serbia’s capital of Belgrade, Vltra U (pronounced Ultra U) has enjoyed the city’s vibrant clubbing scene from his early teens. Vltra U’s sound goes from retro Synthwave to Nu Disco, Chicago House and Techno, but his preferred style is Deep House and Tech House, which he blends into a never-ending dance set that brings the inner grooves from the audience’s heart and soul back on the dance floor. He’s preformed in many venues in Beijing, including Modernista, SOI Baochao, Cafe de la Poste, Cafe Zarah, AOTU Studio, OMNI Space, Rec Room, Dada and Lantern alongside with local DJs Eva Xu, Jason Lee, Zena.
No Lights No Lycra (NLNL)
At the heart of No Lights No Lycra (NLNL) is the belief that everyone can dance. NLNL is a global dance community providing an inclusive and non-judgmental place for people to explore this notion. NLNL brings people together to experience freedom of self-expression and joy.
